Acceptable Use Policy

The short version: Upload your own face, no one else’s. Pick an artist name that’s yours to use. Don’t involve kids, celebrities, or anyone else’s brand. Share only what’s yours to share. Don’t abuse the free tier. That’s most of it.

1. The photo you upload

Allowed: a photo of you. That’s it. fried.ai is a self-portrait service.

Never allowed:

  • Photos of anyone other than you: friends, family, partners, strangers, exes, coworkers, and people in the background of group shots (crop to just you).
  • Photos of anyone under 18, including yourself if you are under 18 (the Service is 18+ only).
  • Photos of celebrities, politicians, or other public figures, living or dead, unless that person is you.
  • Photos you found online, scraped, or otherwise don’t have rights to.
  • Sexually explicit, nude, or intimate images of anyone, consenting or not.
  • Images that are themselves unlawful anywhere we or you operate, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which is strictly prohibited. Uploads are screened and sexually explicit content is blocked; if we become aware of apparent CSAM, we preserve it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law.

2. Artist names and text

Your artist name and any text you provide (and the album titles you keep) must not:

  • Use a real person’s name other than your own (or a name you have documented rights to use).
  • Use a trademark or brand (band names, company names, product names) you don’t own or have rights to.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
  • Contain hate speech, threats, harassment, or content sexualizing minors.

We run automated checks (denylists and screening) on names and generated titles and may block or require you to change entries that appear to violate this section. Passing our automated checks is not a legal clearance and does not shift responsibility to us; rights in names are yours to secure.

3. Using your Renders

You are responsible for how you use and where you share your Renders. Do not:

  • Remove, crop out, obscure, or alter the “Made with AI” label or the imperceptible watermark (or any embedded AI-provenance metadata, where present).
  • Use Renders to deceive: passing them off as photographs of real events, or using them in scams, catfishing, or disinformation.
  • Use Renders in contexts that are unlawful where you use them (for example, election materials that violate local AI-disclosure laws).
  • Present a Render as depicting anyone other than yourself.

Share links

A share link puts a cover of yours on a page anyone holding the link can open, so the rules above apply to it in full, along with these. Do not use a share link to:

  • Distribute an image of anyone other than you.
  • Harass, target, or humiliate anyone, or keep sending a link to someone who has asked you to stop.
  • Deceive people about who is depicted, or present a cover as a real photograph.
  • Distribute content that is unlawful where you are or where the people you send it to are.

Deleting or archiving a cover stops its link working. Anyone who opens it after that sees only a note that the album is no longer available.

4. Platform integrity

Do not:

  • Circumvent free-render limits (multiple accounts, disposable emails, automation).
  • Use bots, scripts, or scrapers against the Service, or bulk-download beyond your own library.
  • Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities; interfere with rate limits, CAPTCHA, or moderation; or attempt to extract our prompts, models, or another user’s data.
  • Resell access, renders-as-a-service, or credits. (Selling or licensing your own finished Renders, on your album, merch, or anywhere else, is fine; operating a cover-generation service for other people through your account is not.)
  • Upload malware or content designed to break processing systems.

5. Enforcement

Violations may result in content removal, blocked renders, forfeiture of the specific abusive free renders, suspension, or termination under Section 12 of the Terms. For credit purchases, termination for AUP violations forfeits only credits used in violation; we refund other unused credits unless the account was used for unlawful content. We report to authorities where the law requires (including NCMEC reporting) and cooperate with lawful process. If you believe we acted in error, contact support@fried.ai; a human reviews appeals.

6. Reporting

To report content that violates this policy or your rights (including a photo of you uploaded without your consent, or nonconsensual intimate imagery, removed within 48 hours of a verified request): visit fried.ai/takedown (no account required) or email support@fried.ai. That includes a cover someone has shared with a link: send us the link address, and where the report is valid we switch off every link to that cover, not only the one reported.
